Bavarian Nordic A/S agreed to a deal with the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, the Serum Institute of India Pvt, to make the Danish biotech firm’s mpox shot.

As Bavarian Nordic works to increase global access to its mpox vaccine, the company has inked a manufacturing licensing pact with the Serum Institute of India (SII) to produce MVA-BN for the Indian market.

Bavarian Nordic will transfer the technology of the current manufacturing process to SII to enable supply for the Indian market, the company said in a statement on Monday

Bavarian will transfer the technology to Serum Institute to supply the shots for Indian market. Serum Institute will also carry out contract manufacturing on profit-sharing model for Bavarian Nordic to help expand global capacity.
