The cap for credentialing reimbursements through the Army program will drop from $4,000 to $2,000 in coming months.

Today, the Army announced policy updates to a pair of voluntary education programs for active-duty, Reserve, and National Guard Soldiers.

The average cost of a credential is $1,700 and soldiers take an average of 1.5 credentials a year, according to the Army. Regarding tuition assistance, the annual cap goes from $4,000 to $4,500 and increases the annually allowed semester hours from 16 to 18.
