The transition comes in shifting global trade dynamics, with India emerging as a cost-effective alternative to China. Currently, HMD exports feature phones and smartphones to West Asia and Africa and is now setting its sights on expanding exports to the US and Europe.

HMD’s CEO and VP for India and Asia Pacific, Ravi Kunwar, said the company has relocated critical operations, including its supply chain sourcing team, to India.
